Ten wheel loop for a piece of cloth...and many more lives to touch...

So like the cat and it’s many lives, the textile loop goes like this
1- fabric made (long process from fibre to fabric...)
2- designs produced and sold (one more long process from designer to market)
3- surplus fabric rolls not being used will go to Craig, whose father was in Berwick streets, so knows contacts, and grandfather tailor, a three generation loop in London
4- Online technology pushed trade away from shops, and fabrics now to find a new home in warehouse
5- Brexit created changes for Buff London entrepreneur Jools who rented warehouse space to Craig
6- Street violence and youth needing new skills linked to industry shrinking implied surplus resources going to waste: fabrics and sewing factorie... leading to social creative enterprise in 2008 as CS4, Creative Studio 4 on Broadwater Farm frontline till 2017...led by creative youths and a tutor, Cat
7- SueMe sustainable sportswear started jacket development from CS4 in support of local sewing programmes helping those furthest from social engagement as well as young mums sewing project SEW, leading to break bond with baby and learn new skills, make friends, adjust to a new life
8- Engagement in passing on surplus fabric supplies from CS4 to educational systems, local London community groups, and individuals building new social sustainable creative enterprises...
9- You the reader and future creator... present in this story and inspired we hope...

10- Here is what was folded up for Rosie to pick up on 24-10-19: thank you for being part of the loop and giving birth to new original designs... show the world what creativity can achieve...
Previous community pick-ups included Creative Communion and TheThanet sewing Hub

Thank you for respecting the rights of the designer.”

Enjoy the process... At Iconic Plisse, AKA IP, we place Intellectual Property at the core of the design process, and think innovation should be world wide protected, without costs or legal input, to give the creator the freedom of expression and the power to feel protected in order to continue creating and delivering, worry free.
This is where the fashion industry sustainable process must start, give the creator authenticity and recognition first.
Creativity heals, and if creativity is not respected, it damages individuals and destroys our amazingly creative societies...

Mind Boggling...

Thank you Rachael for a superb show time, the Mind Body Soul and Yoga shows at Alexandra Palace were an amazing experience... and so inspiring to start on a new holistic path...

Circular energy... a loop of many...

This is a big loop, going up from picking up end of collection swatch cards from Excel, then went on to feed 8 years of Creative Studio 4 sharing within the Tottenham communities and colleges 15 years of fabric swatches donated by closing down suppliers Elite,

kindly relocated by Jools from SueMe where now sewing machines shelves and cutting table from CS4 turn SueMe Creative Design Studio...

which now is now fuelled by Craig’s offcuts, which have already been donated to The Thanet community sewing project, Ciara’s Creative Communion project based at Somerset House, linking artists and textiles, and tomorrow Rosie who is experimenting with new designs she hopes to incorporate in her youth project aiming at sharing skills and employment.

Own your Own...

Through the course of a much enjoyed gathering and sharing of ideas with friends last night , I was very inspired to share my story... on how to Own our Own emotions by becoming an innovator, reflector, creator...

A journey which I started myself in 1991, when researching for my Master's thesis in French Literature at Boston University, discovering the painting of women in 3D shapes such as precious natural stones in Beaudelaire "Les Fleurs du Mal" , a journey I translated into fashion and textile design shared with the wider public since 2008, and enjoying it today, as we have reached the 20th of July, exactly 50 years after the first man walked on the moon... sharing the Face of the Moon with us to inspire our lives beyond imagination...

Here it is the sunset at the Wetlands near Tottenham Hale... looking very white and shiny like the Silver Lady under the reflector's beams...

More Designer's Stories...

Through the course of sharing the design process over the pas 11 years... I created a small moodboard with a simple contrast to display the process quickly and inspire others to design their own visual map to keep organised while releasing the design process...
It starts with the eye of the desigenr in the left top corner and finish with the eyes or lips of other people in pink on the right.
There are 6 steps to discover along the way...

Meeting Grayson Perry and Kansai Yamamoto

THANK YOU,,,
Name dropping is not usually cool, but on a hot summer enchanting evening at the British Museum, stars mingled with the rest of us and made it feel so cool and refreshingly human...
The Manga Fashion show was delightfully amazing bringing together students of the arts from around the world to share with us their 3D amazing visions of what it is to be part of Manga culture opening a fresh perspective on the cultural theme for those less familiar with up and coming youth cultural mediatic developments.

Against this modern futuristic display of phenomenal talent came views which also brought us back to comforting values: Grayson Perry shared his four most cherished rules of success with us:
1- be on time
2- be nice
3- work relentlessly
4- trust your intuition

He said the last one takes years of therapy and that if any of these go missing, success will elude...
Many thanks for reminding us of these essential daily ingredients, and so good to have a chat with you and friends after the show.

I guess one main ingredient present throughout the whole evening was positivity, without which none of this would have ever happen, the power of a positive sharing creative spirit might be so obvious like air and water for artists such as Grayson Perry and Kansai Yamamoto that they never mentioned it directly, yet it was lifting the whole event.

Grayson Perry mentioned the British Museum was an enormous source of cultural exchanges to visit and enjoy on a daily basis and Kansai Yamamoto kindly invited all students and models onto the stage, showing great spirit for cultural exchanges, which to me is the secret positive ingredient for all positive developments, passing on the baton to the younger generation is the best gesture and message to share.

So a big thank you to these very larger than life yet so sharing activists of the creative put to good: Kansai's suit was amazing, portraying a white polar bear trying to climb over an ice patch...
THANK YOU BOTH! and Thank you C. for inviting us... Your creation was out of this world...
