Specing and more ...

In order to perfect a spec and pattern for first proto Feedback Report and add production touches such as notches and grain, a hot water wash and sun blazing dry allowed the process to move forward for this startup.

And on such a sunny day went on sourcing on the bike

No Signature Needed

I looked and looked and for the first time ever could not see any signature on Francis Bacon paintings 🖼 yesterday at the Expo Roadshow, a premiere PerpiArt visit ...

Actually it liberated me of this idea that art and creations have to be stamped with a protective seal, and like Bacon’s subtle cages framing his subjects, I felt mine was lifted forever in a huge respite of recognition being the best protection... IP regenerated... and the only two signs to be found looked like planet recognition, a black cross circled for Mother Earth and later Jupiter which could also have  been a 4 followed by a 5... in a sequence triptych: I was so hoping for Saturn to appear...

Highly recommended visit to be prepared by watching a highly interesting presentation by the Art History School on Bacon’s Background

Day1 to create

Colour synchronicity at LivingUnderOneSun friendly glasshouse occurred today between Albert‘s tulips and African print .... as well as nature’s delightful autumn foliage’s hues and Happy mini pumpkins...

Today at LivingUnderOneSun started the Rescue project to put 900 surplus bags back on the market, from a Creative perspective.
Just as the creative scheming of the first proto took place the Haringey Colour Way first Meeting consultation was an interesting insight into the art of Albert from Agwa  Bud project who will display his wall paintings to make the Park View underpass leading to Ikea more enticing.

Having already admired his bicycle painting there cycling to the Lea Valley, it was great to meet him in person and chat and ... share the creative process with him and receive feedback

For the bag in the making as to how much customization would make visual sense: it transpired, as the sewing and scheming was going on, that doing one Utilitarian front pouch panel matched by a shoulder strap was enough of a story to uplift a generic bag into a versatile more colorful Sustainable individually crafted item... Fit for cycling and carrying lots of fresh vegetable safely... while touring through gorgeous Tottenham!

The 900 bags to follow this initial proto were rescued by LUOS when the Haringey logo changed and the I❤️Tottenham bags displaying the old logo could not be used to give away after the riots, as part of a constant awareness for striving communities and efforts to build sustainable skillful resilience.

Now seems a good time to reclaim the bags as an opportunity to turn a new wheel of the creative projects run by LUOS and link women entrepreneurial skills-to-gain with green creative vision and expression, enabling them to explore new creative avenues leading to micro economies development.

Here is the first proto in action:

As Albert, who took this shot mentioned, „you don‘t look like you‘re in Tottenham“... true : LUOS is a magical kind Creative Heaven in Tottenham... To visit and enjoy ...
Thank you LUOS!

BridalMeditation

For this delicate bridal amendment every step counts... to shorten Garthered Cuff and reposition safely....

Reposition trim over seams with a zigzag for secure catching and inside flat finish, crushing gathers down
Tip: to secure sleeve and prevent twisting between two layers:
Pin two layers of sleeve and secure underarm open seams with pin after cutting cuff off
Final outcome: cuff length reduction

Important: Steps were worked out after trying various techniques

To attach ruffle cuff to sleeve reverse ruffle over sleeve to keep clean layers together and start from undersea catching ruffle French seam towards back sleeve

Below the parts cut out before stitching can start after first 5 steps: each sleeve take an average of one hour
The right sleeve trim is harder to stitch and needed to be redone several times because the trim overlap has to go towards the back and this makes it harder to adjust.
Tip: gathering thread was placed on new stitching line before cutting excess fabric
In addition to helping a young bride with her perfect dress this amendment counts as productive active meditation: time slows down, full attention is required, the magic of hands and other senses come to life...
